History of the theater

The opening ceremony of the theater was attended by People's Artist of the USSR Asanali Ashimov, People's Artist of Kazakhstan Esmukhan Obayev, winner of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ashirbek Sygai and other famous artists.

Kazakhstani humorous theaters and famous talents took part in the festival.:

In 2012-2013, the Theater of Humor and Satire organized the I, II International Festival "Alem Azili". Along with famous satirists from Russia, China, Japan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Karakalpakstan.

There are 88 employees in the theater, 37 of them creative workers.

The theater opened its curtain with the authorship of U. Abdraimov and the musical comedy "Auylym anim" (directed by U. Abdraimov), based on the play by the Kazakh classic writer Saken Zhunusov "Kyz Kyz Kyz".

In November 2011, with the support of the Akimat of the region, the theater was given the building of the former Shymkent cinema, in which the team successfully operates.

The Shymkent City Theater of Humor and Satire, a state-owned municipal enterprise, is one of the first satirical theaters opened by Decree No. 91 of the Akim of the South Kazakhstan region dated April 4, 2008.
